Growth rate of honey exports from Ukraine nearly doubled
During January-October 2014, Ukrainian enterprises exported 27,2 thousand tons of honey in the amount of US $ 70,9 million, while there were 16,7 thousand tons (US $40,6 million ) for the corresponding period the previous year. The main external markets for the Ukrainian honey became Germany, Poland and the United States. This was reported in the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

UCAB forecasts increasing of gross harvest of soybean by 40% and exports – by 51%
Harvesting campaign of soy beans moves to its end, and the gross harvest of soybeans this marketing year will be about 3.8 mln t that is 40.1% more than in 2013/14 MR. The same time, it is forecasted that exports of this crop will increase by 42.8-50.7% up to 1.8-1.9 mln t. It was informed by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

In October cheese imports to Ukraine three times higher than its exports
According to the data of customs statistics, in October 2014 Ukraine exported about 300 tons of cheese. At the same time, its imports amounted to 940 tons, this was reported in the the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

Ban of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance may cause losses of US $300 million by landowners
Since October 22, 2014, ban on crop production imported from Ukraine has entered into force in the Russian Federation. Whereas in the past restrictions used to be imposed on such plant products as onion, potatoe, sunflower seeds, soybeans and meal, currently Ukraine can not export to the Russian Federation the total list of goods included in the list of regulated products with high phytosanitary risk (complete products list can be found according to the reference). Thus, the Ukrainian exporters would suffer additional financial losses in the amount of US $57,5 million till the end of 2014 as a result of embargo on this products list. For the calendar year, the total amount of losses on this list could reach US $300 million.

Foreign direct investment in agriculture of Ukraine decreased by 13,4%
At the end of the first half of 2014, foreign direct investment in agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Ukraine decreased by US$ 104,1 million or 13,4% to US$ 672,5 million, compared to the total investment at the beginning of the year. Sales of grain and leguminous plants in Ukraine increased by 10,4%
For the first two months of 2014/15 MY (July-August), 8,3 million tons of grains and leguminous plants were sold by the Ukrainian agricultural enterprises, which is 10,4% more than the same period of last marketing year. This was stated in the monthly information bulletin of the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB) AgriFYI, with reference to the State Statistics Service data.

Ukrainian exporters used 99.8% of tariff rate quotas for grains exports to the EU
Ukrainian exporters have actively used tariff rate quotas (TRQs) on grains export to the European Union introduced by autonomous trade preferences (ATP). As of September, 25 grain TRQ was used by 99.8%, another words 1.6 million tons of Ukrainian grains were exported to the EU. This was reported by the association Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB).

Fish supply on the Ukrainian market reduced by 34%
Annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea caused a significant decrease of fishing in Ukraine, and hryvnia devaluation led to a reduction in its imports. In Ukraine honey production could be reduced by 3,7-10,5% in 2014
In Ukraine honey production could reach about 66-71 thousand tons in 2014, which is 3,7-10,5% less than a year earlier. However, exports of the production could rise to 24-27 thousand tons, that exceeds the last year's value by 10,7-24,6%. This was reported in the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

Previous US dollars exchange rate growth caused dramatical increase in prices of pork

For the last six months agricultural companies have become cheaper more than by 20%
One of the indicators, which most clearly reflects the current situation with investment, political and economic climate, is capitalization of public companies. As informed Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB), 15 Ukrainian public agricultural companies are currently represented on the world exchanges. For the last 6 months, this index has decreased on more than 1.1 bln USD (-22.2%), since October 2013 – on 2.5 bln USD (-39.1%), and at the end of August it totaled 3.9 bln USD.

Offer for imported dairy products on the market has decreased
According to the Mìnistry of Incomes, for the first seven months of the year Ukraine has imported dairy products totaling 114 mln USD. Although it is only 2% less than the analogous period of the previous year, but in natural expression this reduction in imports was quite significant. Such estimation has been done by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

Transferring parts of the agricultural enterprises to the common tax system will reduce the harvest by a third
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine initiated a revision of taxation system in the field of agriculture. The last suggestion implies to transfer those agricultural enterprises which have over 20 mln UAH of annual revenue and more than 3 ths hectares of farmlands to the common system of taxation. According to the calculations done by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB) adoption of this innovation in the long term perspective could lead to reduction of grain and legume crops harvest by 29.6% and put losses at more than 24 bln UAH.

Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance restricted imports of Ukrainian products almost for $1 billion
Russia has already prohibited imports of such Ukrainian commodity headings as confectionery products, milk and dairy products, live pigs, juices, fruit, canned fruit, vegetables and fish, maize grits, soybeans and soybean meal, sunflower seeds, potatoes and onions.

Iraq market takes the largest share of poultry exports - 28%.
According to Ministry of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine, Ukraine exported 85,7 thousand tons of poultry in the amount of $ 130,2 million during the first seven months of 2014. Major part of poultry was sold to the Iraq market, revenue from sales reached $ 36,7 million that represented 28 % of the total poultry exports. Production of skimmed milk increases by 52%
According to the State Statistics Service, in Ukraine the production of skimmed milk powder reached over 27 thousand tons in the first half of 2014, showing a rise of 52% as compared to the corresponding figure in the previous year. Mineral fertilizers price increase could cost more than 105.3 mln USD to Ukrainian farmers
The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine approved two resolutions concerning imports of mineral fertilizers to Ukraine from Russian Federation and Belarus Republic. This decision applies for ammonium nitrate and complex three-component fertilizers respectively. Due to insufficient level of production at the domestic market that could not fully cover the demand, Ukrainian farmers will have to pay additional 105.3 mln USD due to price increase. Draft law No. 4309 to prevent further development of agriculture sector
Setting a transfer of the large and medium agricultural producers to a common system of VAT taxation beginning from January 1, 2015, and prolongation of VAT’s tax exempt regime for transactions with export of grain and industrial crops up to January 1, 2015, are proposed by the government bill No. 4309 registered in the Parliament of Ukraine on 21.07.2014.

Gross yield of grain crops and grain legumes in 2014/15 MY is expected to reach 55-56 million tonnes
According to estimations of the Association “Ukrainian agribusiness club” (UCAB), gross yield of grain and oil crops in 2014/15 MY is forecast to 55-56 million tonnes (excluding currently occupied territory of Crimea), which is 6,5 -7,5 million tons (11,9-12,1%) less than previous year. Export is expected to reach 26-27 million tons which is 6,3-7,3 million tons (18,8-21,8%) less than expectations of 2013/14 MY.

Export sales of Ukrainian agricultural commodities to the EU to grow by 14.3% in 2014
According to the estimates of the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB), export sales of Ukrainian agricultural commodities may grow by 8,3-14,3% in 2014 as compared to 2013. In monetary terms, this figure would account for about $4.8-5.1 billion. The main reasons for this increase include unilateral trade preferences provided to Ukraine by the EU and the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

Abolition of technical inspection for agricultural machinery will facilitate the investment attractiveness of Ukrainian agricultural industry
Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB) greets the adoption of Law No. 2609a “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (to ensure the safe operation by agricultural machinery)”. The sowing areas of spring grains and legumes may be up to 10% less than expected in Ukraine
According to the official information of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, nearly 7.2 million hectares have been sown under spring grains and legumes as of May 13. This number is 6.5% or 0.5 million hectares less than the previous year, even when considering that sowing period has started earlier this year. Every fourth agricultural enterprise became unprofitable in 2013
By results of the financial activity of large and medium-sized enterprises of Ukraine in 2013, 24% of the total number of enterprises in agriculture have become unprofitable. In comparison with 2012, this figure has increased by 5.1 points. In money equivalent the amount of losses increased in 2013 by nearly 3 bln UAH or 73.3% and amounted to 7 bln UAH.
