Lobbying

Specific in defending interests of any branch in Ukrainian economy has significantly changed within the last ten years.  From appeals and requests professional associations have moved to argumented justification of their opinions, from single actions to systematic work on legislative and executive levels. It has become obvious the need to transfer from reaction on negative events to their warning.

Following these changes UCAB implements in its work the next steps verified through many-year practice:

1. Monitoring of economic situation in the industry as well as its legislative regulation.

2. Deep analysis that allows to understand the essence of the situation.

3. Impact on public opinion in relevant target groups.

4. Communication with state power bodies and administration.

UCAB experts actively participate in executive meetings of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, other official and consulting bodies related to agricultural industry of Ukraine. Minutes of these meetings are usually sent out to the UCAB members. Permanent contacts with bodies of the state power and business let us clearly identify the challenges the agriculture faces at.

UCAB analytical unit has full-spectrum statistic and market information which is needed to analyze the main agricultural markets. UCAB experts have great experience in legislation base analysis. Altogether, it allows us to provide in-depth research which has been used as a starting point when the association defends interests of its members.

When it is necessary, UCAB organizes wide information campaigns to popularize own ideas among main target groups, particularly, among state power bodies, business, and population.  Opinion promotion let us significantly increase efficiency on this way

Finally, good business contacts in both executive and legislative power support in speeding up the decision making process.  UCAB leaders are represented in the main bodies of power, they take part at public debates within to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, work as advisers to the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, members of the Parliament, work in other working groups.
