Kazakhstan: in August 2011 wheat export grew by 5%

According to the Customs Control Committee under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in August 2011 the export volumes of grains from Kazakhstan totaled 100.8 thsd tonnes, an increase of 0.8% compared to exports in July 2011. In August 2010, grain exports from the country totaled 380.5 thsd tonnes. Traditionally, wheat (92.3%) formed the major part in the structure of grain exports.
In particular, in August 2011 Kazakhstan exported 93.1 thsd tonnes of wheat, up 4.8% compared to July 2011. In August 2010, wheat exports from the country totaled 353.2 thsd tonnes.
In the reporting month, Tajikistan (37.4 thsd tonnes), Uzbekistan (24.4 thsd tonnes) and Azerbaijan (14.3 thsd tonnes) were the main importers of the grain.
In 2011/12 MY (July-August), the country exported 181.9 thsd tonnes of wheat, down 3.6 times compared to the level of exports during the same period of 2010/11 MY.
