Plant protection products’ import has increased by 40%
During Jan-May 2016 64.3 thousand tons of PPP were imported to Ukraine which is 40% extra comparing to previous year. Major import growth was noted in supplies of herbicides and insecticides.

Ukraine negotiates an increase of non-tariff quotas for export to the EU

Exporters forecast prices growth on grain
In 16/17 MY grain prices downward trend may change to a positive. Due to results of UCAB experts research which is based on IFC data, wheat average price may reach 145 USD per a ton (+6% to 15/16 MY), barley – 141 USD (+5%), corn – 130 USD (equal to average price in 15/16 MY. The UCAB association analysts mark weather issues, shrinkage of transition stocks of corn & barley and possible increase of oil prices as major price growth drivers.

Ukraine’s ice-cream export has increased by 16%
State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has reported 16% increase of ice-cream and other ice for food products during first five months of 2016 comparing to the same time period in 2015. Trade volume abroad has accounted in 1.8k tons, adding 0.3k tons comparing to the previous period in 2015. Foreign customers have paid 3.6 M USD in Jan-May of 2016 and this is 360k USD extra compering to the same of 2015.

UCAB supports custom duty cancellation for oil flax
Law project “About rates of export customs on seed of certain types of plants" registered under number of 4734 in the parliament on May 31, 2016 regarding cancellation of export custom on oil flax, granulated or not, and false flax. Association UCAB supports this initiative as planned cancellation will allow increasing production and export.
