The opening of the photo exhibition “The Path of Grain” was held at the European Parliament under the organization of UCAB

On March 19, in the European Parliament, organized by the UCAB and under the patronage of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU, the grand opening of the photo exhibition “The Path of Grain” was held, dedicated to the third anniversary of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The exhibition reflects not only the path of Ukrainian grain – from the fields to world markets, but also the fate of people who, despite the war, continue to work for global food security.

During the opening the art-book “The Path of Grain”, created on the initiative and support of KERNEL, was also presented. The publication contains an address signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a foreword by renowned Ukrainian historian Yaroslav Hrytsak about the importance of Ukrainian grain in history and today.

Opening the exhibition, H.E. Vsevolod Chentsov, Ambassador of Ukraine to the EU, emphasized that the exhibition is a reflection of Ukraine's resilience, the strength of its agribusiness sector and partnership with the EU. It once again emphasizes that the war continues and that only together can we win. “Ukrainian farmers, like our soldiers at the front, fight for every ton of grain, every kilogram of products. And this fight is important not only for Ukraine, but also for the EU and global food security. We live in difficult times, when Ukraine and Europe face new challenges. But I believe that our relations will remain stable and cooperation will remain strong”, emphasized Vsevolod Chentsov.

“This exhibition is an important reminder for Brussels of the challenges the Ukrainian agribusiness sector is dealing with during the war. One picture can say more than a thousand words, and these pictures tell the story of a peaceful country that fed millions of people around the world, the story of Russian aggression and war crimes, blocking exports and attacks on ports,” the Ambassador added.

In turn, Mr. Pekka Toveri, MEP, Co-Chair of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee, in his welcoming speech emphasized that today Europe must act quickly. “We need to adopt a new trade agreement as soon as possible to replace the current autonomous trade preferences after June 6. Ukraine is fighting for its freedom, but at the same time it gives Europe time to recognize the threats and mobilize support. That is why the Parliament calls on the European Commission to take effective decisions to ensure uninterrupted export of Ukrainian agro-products to the EU This is not only a matter of economics - it is a matter of justice,” P. Toveri emphasized.

As Nazar Bobitski, director EU office of the UCAB, noted on this occasion: “We are honored to open the photo exhibition, which has the symbolic name ‘The Path of Grain’. It is a great responsibility and privilege for UCAB to be the voice of the Ukrainian agrarian sector here in Brussels. We represent the community of agrarians who work day and night to keep Ukraine and Ukrainian agriculture sustainable. We are grateful to KERNEL, in particular to Ms. Kateryna Spivakova, the author of this idea, for the brilliant idea of the art book and exhibition and for its perfect realization”, - stressed Nazar Bobitski.

Kateryna Spivakova, Government Relations Director at KERNEL, who was at the opening, presented the concept of the exhibition to the guests, talked about the complicated history of each of the photos and encouraged the audience to support solidarity with Ukraine and its struggle for freedom and common European values.

UCAB is sincerely grateful to the Mission of Ukraine to the EU, MEP P. Toveri and Kernel for their support in organizing this important event.
