Ukrainian farmers preparing to harvest

In the southern regions harvesting is to start of after June 20. As Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said, this year the government will allocate UAH 1 billion for technical modernization of agricultural enterprises.
Prices of grain this year will remain high, but the Prime minister assured Ukrainian consumers that in the domestic market there will be no price hike. To ensure this, in particular, the Government intends to apply import duty. The Cabinet forecasts: in 2011 Ukraine will get no less than 40 million tons of grain. Although, according to experts of the Agriculture Ministry, the 2011 harvest could reach 48 million tons.
