Ukraine to increase grain yield to 50 mln tonnes in next 1-2 years

      According to the President of Ukraine Victor Yuschenko, in next 1-2 years Ukraine intends to increase grain yield to 50 mln tonnes, due to the new politics in agrarian sector.

      The President noted that the previous government made a range of mistakes in agrarian politics in particular led to restrictions on grain export, however new government intends to correct these mistakes.

      According to the President, the strategic goal of Ukraine is to regularly be presented as a seller on the international agrarian market. He reminded that Ukraine takes the sixth position by export volume on the world market.

       According to him, budgetary motivation, changes in the structure of the sowing areas and increase of investments should improve the situation in the industry.

      Yuschenko noted that planned liberalization of the land market would stimulate arrival of the investors to the agrarian sector of the country.
