Ukraine: sun oil export would total 50.000-60.000 tonnes in June
Ukraine's sun oil export in June 2008 would total 50.000-60.000 tonnes, reported Stepan Kapshuk, General Director of Association "Ukroliyaprom".
In May, Ukraine's enterprises produced 110.000 tonnes of sun oil, the export totaled 55.000 tonnes, reported he.
According to S. Kapshuk, since the beginning of the current season ( September 2007), production of sun oil totaled 1.466 mln tonnes, 1.064 mln tonnes were exported. At that, for the same period last year sun oil export totaled 1.412 mln tonnes.
S. Kapshuk underlined that for today there is no problems with customs registration of sun oil for export, however problems emerged with shipments due to Europe prohibition for the Ukrainian sun oil export. The exporters need time to conclude new contracts and perform their conditions on quality.
S. Kapshuk expressed hope for continuation of normal partnership. He stated that quality of the Ukrainian sun oil is one of the highest, taking into account that Ukraine uses less amount of chemicals, pesticides etc. Therefore he hopes on renewal of the export to Europe. Ukraine is able guarantee the quality of sun oil, reported he.
According to S. Kapshuk, for today, total stocks of sun oil in the country total nearly 380.000 tonnes. At that, as of June 1, sunflower seeds stocks totaled 783.000 tonnes, 340-350.000 tonnes from this volume can be exported.
Taking into account that monthly Ukraine sunflower seeds consumption totals 40.000 tonnes, the stocks exceeds the country's demand in oil by 6 times, stated S. Kapshuk.
