Russia: wheat export totaled 11.6 mln tonnes in July -May of 2007/08 MY
In May 2008, decrease of grain export was observed. Grain export totaled 11.600 tonnes against 31.900 tonnes in the previous month and 772.600 tonnes in May 2007, according to the data of Federal Statistics Service.
Wheat covered the main share (39.3%) in the export structure, rice - 24.8% and maize - 13.7%.
In May, wheat export decreased to 4.600 tonnes against 16.200 tonnes of wheat exported in April and 630.000 tonnes of wheat exported in May 2007. The share of seeds material in the total export volume covered nearly 59% , milling wheat- 41% and feed wheat- 1%.
Mongolia became the main buyer of the Russian wheat in May.
In total, during July -May of 2007/08 MY, wheat export from Russia totaled 11.6 mln tonnes, up 16% as compared to the same period of 2006/07 MY.
