In 2009, Russia to increase agricultural production by 4%
In 2009, agricultural commodity production in the Russian Federation should increase by 4%, declared Viktor Zubkov, the First Vice-Premier.
According to him, the growth in plant growing industry will total nearly 3%.
According to V.Zubkov, it is rather a ambitious task in the terms of decrease of production rates in other industries. The global financial crisis also caused many problems in the agrarian sector.
At the same time, the results of 2008 founded a good basis for fulfillment of planned governmental program of development of agriculture in 2009.
According to the Federal Service of Statistics, in 2008 agricultural production in comparable prices increased by 10.8% compared to 2007 index, including plant growing production – 17.6%.
During 9 months of 2008, investment volumes to the fixed capital of agriculture increased by 2.3%.
