As of November 1, grain carry-over stocks in Ukraine increased by 56%
As of November 1, 2008, Ukrainian agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) and storage and processing enterprises collected 24.6 mln tonnes of grains, an increase of 56% compared November 1, 2007, including 13.9 mln tonnes of wheat (up 85%), according to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
On November 1, grain reserves in agricultural enterprises 14 mln tonnes, up 2 times compared to the previous year index, including 7.6 mln tonnes of wheat (up 2.4 times).
During January-October period, average purchasing prices for grains totaled 1.022 UAH/t as opposed to 845 UAH/t in the previous year, wheat prices totaled 995 UAH/t (809 UAH/t in 2007).
In October, the enterprises purchased grains at the prices of 836 UAH/t, down 9% compared to September index.
