Russia: spring crops sowing campaign is conducted at the area of 2.3 mln ha
According to the Press-Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, as for April 7, the spring crops sowing is conducted at the area of 2.3 mln ha (4.7% from the plan), including the spring grain at the area of 1.8 mln ha (5.7%).
In the South Federal District the area of 1.1 mln ha is sowed under the spring crops (14.2% from the plan). At that, the economic entities of the South Federal District conducted the sowing campaign of sunflower seeds for seed at the area of 12.100 ha.
According to the data of the Russian hydrometeorological service, during the last week, the conditions for the field works were favorable, allowing increasing of the rates of the spring sowing campaign; however they are still slower as compared to the last season.
