Bread prices may rise by 10-20%

Bakery products’ prices may rise by 10-20% due to increase of prices on grain, energy and growing taxes. Mr. Taras Vysotskyi, General Director at UCAB Association, has expressed the issue during press conference at GolosUA agency.

“Bakery market state approximates to the case from buckwheat market. Formally we buy a loaf – price doesn’t change, but there is confidence in the product quality considering food standards”, noted Mr. Taras Vysotskyi. The expert finds that social bakeries remain on the market due to lower weight and quality dimensions of the product, at the same time prices for all other sorts of bakery products continue to increase.

As Mr. Taras has explained, prices on bakery products have to increase by 20% due to objective factors as world grains prices increase (+10%), plus energy, wages and a major – taxation changes due to cancellation of VAT payback.

At the same time, 50% of bread price - flour price whereas other 50% devoted to prices on energy, taxes, and wages of staff employed in production.
